Moving Tips

Items are best protected and easier to move when in a box. Please limit box weight to under 30 lbs. Items boxed by you are not insured in any way. We will make every effort to protect the belongings inside.
Hanging clothes should be left on the hanger and taped together at the base of the hook, 7-10 max. For added protection, cover the clothes in a plastic garbage bag.
Label your boxes with either their destination or their contents. This will enable us to quickly place them in the appropriate rooms and save you time and money.
Empty dressers and cabinet drawers. This will eliminate things falling out or spilling while we maneuver them during your move.
Four-door filing cabinets should be emptied. Two-door cabinets can be left filled.
Washing machines and dryers should be emptied and unfastened. We can assist with this, and, if needed, hook them up at your new location. Front-loading washers should be secured for moving according to manufacturer's specifications. If not, we will move them, but accept no liability for damage.
Refrigerators and freezers should be emptied and allowed to defrost 48 hours prior to moving.
Please make sure your pets and small children are supervised so that they do not become trip hazards.
Items made out of particle board, wicker and glass will not be insured. We will, however, take the utmost caution with them.
Flammables, chemicals, and propane tanks will not be moved.
Electronic items, stereos, and computers should be boxed in original boxes if possible. If not, we will move but accept no liability for damage.
Please remember to make any additional arrangements such as: reserving elevators, reserving parking, and door access prior to moving day --- this will avoid any extra time for delay.
Normal drive time has been figured into our quote. Aloha Joe Movers will not be held responsible for any delays. If your move requires additional time, you will be billed in 15-minute increments.
Any changes to dates and times should be done as soon as possible. Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to move time. Failure to do so will result in a 50% charge of estimated quote at agreed rate.
Payment is expected at the completion of the move, unless other arrangements have been approved by Aloha Joe Movers designee.
